Ace spook-spotter Amy is delighted when her best friend Hannah invites her to stay in an old castle. Her head fills with visions of headless ghosts and blood-thirsty vampires, secret passages and priests' holes. None of this is of any interest to Hannah. She is interested in the wildlife sanctuary in the castle grounds, where she hopes to spot some rare birds. Both girls have some surprises in store for them. Mary Hooper's other books include "The Revolting Bridesmaid", "The Revolting Wedding", "Best Friends Worst Luck" and "The Boyfriend Trap".

Mary Hooper has written many fiction books for children and young adults. Kate Lum lives in Canada and is the author of WHAT which won the Children's Book Award in 1999. Sue Hellard lives in London and is the illustrator of many wonderful books for children. This is her first book for Bloomsbury - but it was such fun working on it we already have another in the pipe-line!
