Mark Williams lives in a rural town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. After leaving school, Mark gained a business studies diploma and also qualified as a funeral director. He served as a prison officer for thirteen years and took up writing in 2008 having written short stories for various magazines and papers. 'Hooty and Pig' began in 2009 when Mark saw his daughter's cuddly owl and pig sitting together in her bedroom.
