Mark Williams lives in a rural town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. After leaving school, Mark gained a business studies diploma and also qualified as a funeral director. He served as a prison officer for thirteen years and took up writing in 2008 having written short stories for various magazines and papers. 'Hooty and Pig' began in 2009 when Mark saw his daughter's cuddly owl and pig sitting together in her bedroom. Growing up in a farming community and his love of the countryside has served as inspiration for their many adventures. Mark is married to Caroline and has a son and daughter and one step-son.
