"The Yearling" tells the poignant story of young Jody Baxter, a boy growing up in rural Florida during the late 1800s. Struggling with the challenges of frontier life, Jody finds companionship in a young fawn he names Flag, whom he raises after rescuing him from his mother's death. Their bond is deep and transformative, representing both the joys and harsh realities of life. As they navigate the struggles of family, nature, and responsibility, Jody faces heart-wrenching decisions that ultimately shape his understanding of love, loss, and the bittersweet nature of growing up.
