Robert Williams is Professor Emeritus at Southern Illinois University. He is currently acting as lead consultant for the NSF-funded Building Base Line Objectives for Children's Knowledge and Skills in Science (BLOCKS) program at the University of Texas. The teachers and researchers in BLOCKS are assessing what skills four-year-olds can attain before they enter kindergarten. Mari Bolte is an author of children's books and a lover of art. She lives in southern Minnesota with her husband, daughter, and two wiener dogs. A degree in creative writing has taught her the value of fine writing. Parenthood has made her a purveyor of fine art, with specializations in sidewalk chalk, washable markers, and glitter glue. Pamela Becker, a Rhode Island School of Design alumni, enjoys the challenge of taking on projects that expand her knowledge of the world and of herself. She has traveled extensively studying mask making, mythology and dance, which infuses her art with the patina of diversity. Among current assignments, Pamela paints the ongoing vision of a patron at her gallery in Sedona, AZ.
