"Hidden Figures, Young Readers' Edition" tells the inspiring true story of four African American women—Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Christine Darden—who played crucial roles at NASA during the early years of the space program. Despite facing racial and gender discrimination, these brilliant mathematicians and engineers made significant contributions to America's space race. Their groundbreaking work in calculations and engineering helped launch astronauts into orbit and ensured safe landings. This powerful narrative highlights their perseverance, intelligence, and the importance of diversity in STEM fields, inspiring young readers to pursue their dreams against all odds.
