Margaret Sidney 's real name was Harriett Stone (1844-1924). She was born in Connecticut and authored twelve books about the Pepper clan. She is buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Massachusetts. Diane Namm is the author of several Classic Starts books, including Greek Myths. Sarah Brannen has illustrated more than a dozen books for children. She won the Ann Barrow Scholarship from the New England chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators in 2007.
