A family take their beautifully-groomed giant poodle for a walk on the beach, who immediately gets into lots of mischief, much to their embarrassment. However, events take an unexpected twist: the family's baby falls in the water and Dashing Dog jumps in and rescues her! Now he looks an utter mess, but of course the family hails him as a hero. This new Margaret Mahy picture book has all her hallmark exuberance and wit. Sarah Garland's vibrant illustrations compliment the text perfectly, making this a highly entertaining and energetic picture book for young children.
