Mabel Lucie Attwell is one of Britain's best loved illustrators of children's books. Her illustations of big-eyed bouncing babies have been favourites for over 70 years. This mixture of stories and rhymes includes two of her Boo Boo stories, traditional rhymes such as Rock a Bye Baby, This Little Pig Went to Market and Bye Baby Bunting and stories specially commissioned for this collection. Mabel Lucie Attwell was born in 1879 in London's East End and studied at St Martin's School of Art. She became an illustrator of books, postcards and posters. She died in Cornwall in 1964.

Mabel Lucie Attwell was a British illustrator known for her drawings of children, based on her daughter, Peggy. She studied at Heatherley's and Saint Martin's School of Art before illustrating for magazines and books, including Alice's Adventures in Wonderland , Peter Pan and The Water-Babies .
