Lucy Cousins, the creator of Maisy, won the 2002 Smarties Book Prize Gold Award for the Under 5s category with her picture book Jazzy in the Jungle. She lives in Petersfield, Hampshire, and has four children. Jessica Spanyol studied for an MA in Illustration at the Royal College of Art and has since staged exhibitions and designed installations and sets, winning several awards for her work. She is the author of Go Bugs Go! and the creator of the Carlo series about an inquisitive giraffe. She lives with her partner, son and baby twins in east London.
