This new series of books provides ready-made collections of early years stories, songs, rhymes and information text all based around popular themes. The books are more than just anthologies, however, as each poem, story or rhyme is photocopiable and is accompanied by activity ideas showing how it can be used as a springboard for activities across the curriculum. All the ideas are carefully linked to the requirements of the new Early Learning Goals. The books also include photocopiable templates and activity sheets. The material in the book is all new (with the exception of traditional rhymes and stories). COLOURS AND SHAPES provides a wide range of resources to help develop early learning about colours and shapes. The colours section looks at colour in animals, food, clothes, weather and all sorts of situations around us. The shape section will help to reinforce the names of 2-D shapes while also covering a host of interesting shapes in nature and in objects that will be familiar to young children. * New source of stories, rhymes and songs * Provides simple information text * Based on favourite themes * Ideas linked to the Early Learning Goals * Photocopiable * New templates and activity ideas
