This book uses a variety of pictures, such as photographs, advertisements and posters, to look at different types of food that people ate in the past. It includes pictures from Victorian times to the present day so children can make comparisons between the food they eat now and the food their parents or grandparents may have eaten as children. Different types of food are covered, from fast food, to home cooked food and school dinners. Notes at the back for parents and teachers give some more information about the pictures and suggest questions that could be asked about them when reading the book together with the child.
