Mary Boone has ridden an elephant, jumped out of an airplane, and hung out backstage with a boy band - all to do research for her articles and books. Mary has written more than 45 books for young readers. She grew up in Iowa and now lives in Tacoma, Wash. , with her husband, two teen-age children, and an Airedale terrier named Iris. Lisa M. Bolt Simons, a teacher by day, has published several nonfiction children's books, as well as articles in various publications. She's been awarded a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, a McKnight Artist Fellowship for Writers/Loft Award in Children's Literature Honorable Mention, and a Shabo Award from The Loft Literary Center. She lives in Minnesota with her husband and teen twins.
