Josepha Sherman is a best-selling author and horse whisperer as well as a keen folklorist, specializing in comparative folklore. Her most recently published work is Mythology for Storytellers (M. E. Sharpe, 2003). When not busy writing and editing, Josepha loves to travel. A natural horse-lover, she also has been privileged enough to have a new-born foal fall asleep at her feet. Josepha lives in Riverdale, New York. Linda Wingerter grew up in Maine and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. With her sensitive, velvet-textured canvas, she has won much acclaim for her previous projects in children's illustration. SUSAN MILORD is the award-winning author of eight books for children, including Willa the Wonderful (2003) and Mexico! (1999). She was born in Connecticut and currently lives in Norwich, Vermont. LYDIA DABCOVICH is the author and illustrator of The Polar Bear Son (1999) and Sleepy Bear (1993). She lives in Brookline, MA where she teaches graphic design.
