Told from the viewpoint of a child whose Grandpa keeps bees, this rhyming text offers an accessible and engaging introduction to the behaviour of bees, including where they live, how honey is made, and what a beekeeper does. This title is aimed at the green market. Bees play a vital role in pollinating plants and this simple book offers teachers and parents a perfect way of discussing the relationships between insects, plants and people. It features informative notes, with helpful and informative facts about bees, beekeeping, honey, and even a delicious recipe for muffins! This book is suitable for Key Stage 1. KS1 covers school years 1 and 2, and ages 5-7 years. Valeria Cis spent many hours painting, drawing and reading as a little girl and became a children's book illustrator when she realized she could merge her passions into a career. She studied fine art at The University of Humanities and Arts in Rosario, Argentina. Her illustration, inspired by daily events and ordinary objects, is brought to life with special attention to detail and pattern. She still lives in Rosario with her husband, son, and their cat, Roberta. Laurie Krebs draws inspiration for her books from her adventures around the world. She is a former teacher from Connecticut, USA, and a mother and grandmother. She is the author of many globe-trotting titles for Barefoot Books, including We All Went on Safari and Off We Go to Mexico! Valeria Cis is a full-time illustrator who lives in Rosario, Argentina with her husband, son and daughter.
