Great for age 4-6 years
This is a beautifully illustrated series that fits in with the UK Key Stage learning scale. It comes with a wordbank that helps children learn new words through reinforcement and repetition. It has a wonderful short story that is perfectly placed for children aged 4-6 years, yet increases their learning at the same time. Its a classic story! What a BIG turnip - it's so huge; the old man can't pull it out of the ground. So, he calls the old woman...and she calls the girl, who calls the dog, who calls the cat...Laura Rader's delightful illustrations enhance this amusing cumulative tale. This series has been developed to grow the new reader. "I'm Going to Read[trademark]" offers children entertaining stories and spectacular artwork, plus an innovative method for reinforcing vocabulary at levels 1 and 2: an easy to read word bank that highlights new words as they are introduced. The books are a strong complement to whatever reading programme your child is using at school - whether it is phonics, literature based or a combination of the two.
