Anne of the Island is the third heartwarming book about red-haired orphan Anne Shirley.

As her childhood friends get married and move away, Anne too leaves Prince Edward Island for college in Kingsport. Although Priscilla Grant and Gilbert Blythe are there, too, she feels lonely and out of place. But Anne soon makes new friends, one of whom is rich, handsome Roy Gardner, whose attentions to Anne make Gilbert very jealous...

Lucy Maud Montgomery was born in 1874, and is best known for a series of novels beginning with Anne of Green Gables , published in 1908. Budge Wilson is one of Canada's most highly-acclaimed authors for young readers. She has published twenty-nine books in more than ten countries and her stories have been included in over ninety anthologies. She has won numerous literary awards, including the Canadian Library Association Young Adult Award. Budge Wilson lives in Nova Scotia, Canada.
