Things in the town of Ashcrumb are getting weird. Or just weirder. Misty Gordon is a young teen girl, whose parents own the Dearly Departed Antiques store, complete with a business van (an old ice cream truck complete with trilling songs) that says "D.E.A.D." on the side of it: "Deceased's Estate and Antique Dealer." After her parents buy estates, they put up the deceased's valuables for sale in the store. One day when accompanying her father to an estate of a recently departed medium for ghosts, Misty discovers that, via a notebook and a pair of eyeglasses she discovers, she can see ghosts! And solve mysteries. With the help of her new powers and her best friend Yoshi, Misty learns that her hometown, a small village in New England, was settled not by respectable colonists, but by pirates! And that the ghosts of the pirates have returned to find the golden statues which they lost centuries ago. The statues give the owner mystical powers over nature's elements. Who will find them first - Misty or the pirates?
