This work offers a careful balance of materials to reflect demands for non-fiction coverage as well as new strategies for teaching fiction texts. Emphasis placed throughout on encouraging students to think about and explain their thinking, as well as to reflect on their achievements and on how to improve. It is fully differentiated to encourage students away from writing frames with additional support for those working at Level 3 and extension activities for those at Level 7 or above. It also provides extensive support in separate Teacher Resource Books to facilitate the delivery of activities that will raise students' attainment.
