Wood is one of the most common materials that we use. This book shows how it's particular properties are ideal for a wide range of uses. And it also explains how wood is produced and shaped. Simple text and large colour photographs make this an ideal introduction to the subject for young readers. Written by experienced primary teachers who have also written many books for children and scripts for BBC Schools Radio, it is a great resource on this popular topic for the FS and KS1 classroom. It includes a glossary, further information and a topic web to show cross-curricular links.

This book is part of a book series called Material World .
