Drippy Face is about a boy growing up in a dysfunctional family. Only, his family is more dysfunctional than most. His mother has a streak of lava in her veins and literally blows her top when provoked- lava everywhere, it's not pretty, his brother Sandy collapses into a pile of dust when afraid and his Grandpa Fossil is crumbling to dust. It's a tale of geology, sibling rivalry and friendship, packed with adventure, danger, eruptions and old fossils. Pete's made of bog, and lives with the other Krusterati in a crumbling subterranean world in the earth's crust. Their lives are in constant danger due to the intrusion of the vicious 'Collector's' who live Up Top, determined to harvest the treasures under their feet. Pete drips and oozes and his sister, Gilda, the golden-faced Precious girl, never lets him forget it. When Gilda is abducted, Pete must make an impossible decision - do the right thing and rescue her, or let his mean-spirited sister get what she deserves. Along with his brother Sandy, who keeps falling apart, and best friends Al Loy, Oozenberg and Blanche, Pete sets off on terrifying adventure into an unknown world populated by vicious "Collectors." Can Pete and his friends avoid the brutal diggers tearing apart their underground world and survive the molten madness of Volcanus and his lava louts? More importantly, can he rescue Gilda from the jaws of the "Furniss" before she is melted or will he return home a soggy disgrace?
