Sam's class have actually been given a great Homework assignment! They have to find twenty uses for horse chestnuts that do not involve whirling them around on bits of string. Sam can't wait to get started; and the results are hair-raising! First of all he strips the prize conker tree next door of all its nuts - and then he knocks out all the spindles in the banisters when he rushes his wheelbarrow of conkers to his room. And that is only the start of the chaos. He has loads of ideas to demonstrate how conkers can help mankind, and he puts all of them to the test. Perhaps the jet propelled cinders were going a bit far though.
