Sophie and Rose is a memorable book that can be read again and again. Written by Kathryn Laskey and illustrated by Wendy Anderson Halperin, this book is a delightful story of caring, dedication and most importantly, friendship. Rose is a very old doll that has been passed down through numerous generations. Rose has been damaged over the years because of all the affection she has received. Although Rose is deteriorating, Sophie still loves her. No matter how many stitches rip or pieces fall off, Rose and Sophie are inseparable and this book follows how close their relationship is. For anyone with a love of dolls, this book is a reminder of how much care you should give to your little friend. It also teaches the important lesson of beauty being only skin deep. -- Jon Smith
