"Red Fox at Hickory Lane" by Kathleen Hollenbeck follows the journey of a young girl named Sophie who discovers a wounded red fox in her backyard. As she nurses the fox back to health, Sophie learns valuable lessons about friendship, compassion, and the interconnectedness of nature. The story captures her adventures and the bond that forms with the fox, highlighting themes of resilience and understanding. Set against the backdrop of a quaint rural community, Sophie navigates both the challenges of her own life and the beauty of the wild, ultimately discovering her place in the world around her.
