Maths Investigator is a secret spy agency whose mission is to make maths fun and exciting. The series has been extensively trialled and developed to offer schools a fresh and exciting way to combine the content and structure of the 2006 Mathematics Framework with the principles of the Primary Strategy 'Excellence and Enjoyment' guidance - to raise standards whilst making learning fun. The Maths Investigator approach focuses on developing the key skills of problem solving, speaking and listening, and using and applying maths. It uses the engaging spy context to integrate maths into problem solving and give pupils a clear purpose for learning. My Logbook contains stimulating practice and investigational activities that can be used in class or as homework, so each pupil has a personalised record of progress. Tasks and activities with an assessment for learning focus help embed key ideas and provide opportunities for consolidation and reinforcement of maths skills. Simple self-assessment systems encourage shared responsibility for learning and help support personalised learning.
