Nathaniel Tripp is the author of Father, Soldier, Son, a memoir of the Vietnam War and a finalist for the National Book Award in the United States. He has lived on a farm in northern Vermont since 1973 and was inspired to write Snow Comes to the Farm from his own love of watching the weather. "I've been keeping a weather journal since I was ten," he says. "My idea of a perfect evening is, simply, staying at home in a snowstorm. " Nathaniel Tripp lives in Vermont with his wife, author Reeve Lindbergh, their son and a collection of farmyard animals. Kate Kiesler has illustrated many books for children, including Crab Moon by Ruth Horowitz. She says of Snow Comes to the Farm, "There is nothing more magical than the first snow. I grew up in Vermont and at the first hint of white, my sister and I had our mittens pulled on, ready to catch those first snowflakes. " Kate now lives in Colorado.
