Julie Ovenell-Carter is a full-time freelance writer living on a small island just offshore from Vancouver, British Columbia. Julie worked as the senior editor at the "Globe and Mail"'s award-winning "West" magazine while it was in print. She frequently contributes to a travel column in the "Globe and Mail. " For almost twenty years Julie has written for many of Canada's major media publications, including "Canadian Living" magazine and "Western Living" magazine, as well as for CBC Radio.
