This is an illustrated rhyme about a girl's imaginative game with her dog. The colourful images depict the make-believe fun of the girl and her dog, and the actual scenes she is imagining. First she is a jolly farmer and her dog , Fred, is her horse; she's a smiling princess, riding an elephant; she's a wildlife warden tracking a lion; she's a deep-sea diver with a dolphin friend. Julie Lacome has also written and illustrated "Sing a Song of Sixpence", "A Was Once an Apple Pie", "Walking Through the Jungle", "Funny Business" and "Hocus Pocus".
