When a young girl adopts Harry the spider as her new pet, no one is very impressed not Mum, not Dad, and certainly not her big brother (could it be that hes afraid of large, hairy spiders?) But when Mum needs to go to the dentist and no one can find the car keys, Harry saves the day. Charlie Fowkes graduated from Derby University in 2002 with a first-class degree in Art and Design and has been working with a passion on children's books ever since. Her quirky fresh artwork and dry-humoured text brings a unique quality to Bubble and Squeak's adventures. Jonathan was born in 1965, the son of a rig fitter and a primary school teacher. He first developed his skills as a writer and illustrator while studying architecture, illustrating poems and lyrics that he had written. After leaving college, he worked as an architect for several years, before pursuing a career in children's books. In addition to writing books such as Bringing Down the Moon, and Ruby Flew Too, he also paper-engineers pop-up books. Julia Jarman is an ex-primary school teacher and is now a full-time childrens' author, specialising in fiction set during historical times.
