The birds are flying south and the world is hidden under layers of heavy snow. Nanuark and his family are on a long journey to the Great Water before the Big Freeze. As they travel Nanuark and his sisters tell tales of the Man Beast, whose terrible eyes flash fire and who grabs little bears with its icicle claws. But does the Man Beast really exist?

She has illustrated the Little Tiger books LITTLE TURTLE AND THE SONG OF THE SEA and MOUSE, LOOK OUT!. Judy Waite spent her childhood in Singapore, and then studied at the Portsmouth College of Art. She has already amassed an impressive body of published work for children, including picture book texts, educational titles and teenage fiction. She has two grown-up children, and lives in Southampton.
