Dad's domain is usually the garden or the garage but this book demonstrates that he can get involved in cooking without it causing an argument. Each chapter highlights different aspects of cooking or eating together and recipes and hints on the social side of eating are also included. The illustrator, Paul Daviz, is the illustrator of "The Whole Joke Book", "The Kids' Guide to the Internet", "The Unofficial Pog and Cap Player's Handbook".

Paul Daviz is a Blackburn-born illustrator whose style is characterised by big, bold shapes, sweeping lines, strong colours, hints of texture, and plenty of fun. His influences include Soviet matchbox covers and 1970s cinema advertising. After studying graphic design and working as a storyboard visualizer for TV ads, packaging and print campaigns, Paul moved to freelance illustration, producing work for numerous and diverse clients, including Chanel 4, The Daily Telegraph , HarperCollins, BMW, Ravensburger and Royal Mail. Judy Bastyra is a children's writer and journalist, particularly specialising in cookery around the world. Rachel Wright is a non-fiction writer specialising in entertaining and educational activities. They both live in London.

This book has the following chapters: Yuk, that's gross, or spaghetti with attitude; why are afters, afters - eating afters before; I never eat anything with a face, or coping with carnivores. (Part contents)
