Smudge was a very old cat. He'd had a full life, and his family tried their best to make him comfortable, but he felt useless. What use was an old cat? But just when he'd decided that everything was all over for him, something new came into his life. Something soft and small - a kitten! Smudge was needed again. He had lots to do and lots to look forward to. Life was worth living after all. A beautifully illustrated heart-warming story.
