Praise for the paperback edition: 'A nicely told adventure story for children up to the age of four or five.' -- BBC Wildlife Magazine 'The rhyming text works well and carries the story along at the right pace. It would be particularly suitable for reading aloud. I am particularly fond of the area of Scotland surrounding the Bass Rock and thought that Jon Mitchell's watercolour illustrations really did it justice, but it is in his portrayal of Scottish sea life that these delightful illustrations really stand out. I particularly liked the attention to detail given to gannets, and Skye is just adorable!' -- School Library Association 'This is a sweet picture book, especially for children who love puffins and birds.' -- Youth Services Book Review
