In "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," a curious young girl named Goldilocks ventures into the woods and stumbles upon the home of three bears: Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear. As the bears go for a walk, Goldilocks explores their house, tasting their porridge, sitting in their chairs, and finally trying out their beds. She finds that everything is "just right" in Baby Bear's space. Upon hearing the bears return home, Goldilocks learns a valuable lesson about respect and boundaries, leading her to make a hasty exit. The story highlights themes of curiosity, consequences, and the importance of having a home. [Generated by language model - please report any problems].

Sandra Evans drew inspiration for This Is Not a Werewolf Story from cultural sources, including the "sympathetic werewolf" stories of twelfth-century France and Celtic myths. She wrote the novel for (and with input from) her son. Sandra is a native of Whidbey Island and earned her doctorate in French literature from the University of Washington. This Is Not a Werewolf Story is her first book for children.

This book contains the following story:

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Father Bear, Mother Bear and Baby Bear live in cottage in the woods. One morning Mother Bear makes porridge for breakfast but it is so hot that the bears decide to go for a pre-breakfast walk. Whilst they are out a little girl with golden hair goes into their cottage. Goldilocks sees the three bowls of porridge and eats up the small one. Then she tries the three chairs in turn, but is too big for Baby Bear's chair and smashes it. Feeling like a nap she looks for a nice bed to sleep in and finds that Baby Bear's bed is just right. When the bears return Goldilocks is fast asleep. What will the bears do to their burglar?
