A fascinating introduction to music and the orchestra for children. Music to accompany the free interactive app is provided by the Britten-Pears Foundation and includes a recording of Benjamin Britten's piece 'The Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra'. Performed by The Royal Northern College of Music Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Mark Elder.
The first interactive sequence profiles one instrument from each section of the orchestra - the violin, clarinet, trumpet and timpani. Users will be able to view each instrument in 360 degrees and listen to a short recording of it playing a tune.
The second interactive sequence profiles the orchestra as a whole and users will be able to listen to Britten's piece 'The Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra'. Users will be able to interact with the conductor and isolate, examine and listen to the four sections of the orchestra.
