Great for age 3-8 years
It was a beautiful piece of leather, as smooth as silk yet tough as a tornado. In fact, it was the best-looking piece of leather you ever saw. It was given to a young cowboy by an old cowhand and the cowboy made a fine pair of chaps. He said he'd wear the chaps 'til the cows came home. The story is adapted from a traditional folktale which finds new life on a cattle ranch. An author's note and a glossary of cowboy slang adds to the enjoyment about a piece of leather and a resourceful cowboy.
