John Malam is a best-selling children's author who has written over one hundred children's books, including Myths and Legends of the Desert in The Mummy series for Kingfisher/Universal. A passionate historian, John has a degree in ancient history and archaeology. He worked as an archaeologist for a short time before becoming an editor specializing in children's books. He now writes full-time and lives in Cheshire, near the site of a famous bog-mummy - Lindow Man. Dr Joann Fletcher is an Egyptologist specializing in mummification who works with human and animal mummies all the time. As well as travelling worldwide to study mummies, she has worked on television programmes for the BBC and Channel 4, as well as lecturing and writing. Joann is also the accepted world expert on ancient Egyptian hair and wigs - her first claim to fame was to find the oldest nit in the world!
