One sunny day, Piglet invites her friends on a picnic by the river, asking them to bring their favourite food. As she goes to the picnic, she is joined by mouse, Blackbirds, Frogs, Dog and Sheep. All the animals have brought packages and bags, and Piglet hopes there will be enough food for them all to share. But when they unpack their bags, each animal has brought food that no one else can eat. The sheep have brought grass, the dog has brought a bone and the blackbirds have brought wriggly worms.Disgusting! It looks as if the picnic will be a disaster - until clever Piglet opens her basket to reveal 12 delicious little cakes. Yum! Finally Piglet spreads out all the food, and there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. This lift the flap counting book weaves fascinating food and simple numbers into an appealing story with lively collage illustrations and a brilliant read-aloud text.
