An accessible, entertaining collection of poems featuring many familiar holiday situations - for example, poems to read to the new friend you met on the beach yesterday; poems to read to parents when they're arguing about where to go today; poems to read in the bath when everyone's waiting for their turn. It features the same mixture of old and new poems, and has the same feel as Susie Gibbs' previous OUP anthologies, "Poems to Freak Out Your Teachers", etc.

There are 96 pages in this book. This book was published 2004 by Oxford University Press .

Susie Gibbs was for many years the editor behind the highly successful Macmillan poetry list and was the editor for a number of OUP poetry books including, Poems to Freak Out Your Teachers, Poems to MakeYour Friends Scream, Poems to Annoy Your Parents, and Poems to Make Your Friends Laugh. Florentine and Pig is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Eva Katzler. Working with children of all ages in summer camps, Eva quickly became aware that kids had forgotten - or had never known - the simple pleasures of getting a little messy with their hands. She devised the delightful partnership of Florentine and Pig as a way of encouraging children (and adults!) to rediscover the joys of making things together. Jess Mikhail graduated from Loughborough University in 2002 and has illustrated books for well-known authors such as Giles Andreae's I Love You, Little Monster (Orchard) and Jeanne Willis' Sid Did It! (Rigby). Jess loves to draw and create funny characters that make people smile. She works in mixed media by scanning fabrics, scribbling, blobbing, mono-printing and photographing.
