Marsha Qualey is the author of many books for readers young and old. Though she learned to swim when she was very young, she says she has never tried any of the moves and spins Gracie does so well. Jessica Gibson is a self-taught illustrator born in Detroit, Michigan who has worked with various companies and publishers. Her heart-warming, whimsical illustrations have been featured in many picture books, magazines, and some galleries. She has a strong fondness for animals and nature, and a lot of her artwork reflects this. Jen Arena is lucky to have been surrounded by great children's books her whole life. As a teenager, she worked at a children's only independent bookshop in Pennsylvania, and after graduating from college she made her way to New York City, where she found a job in children's book publishing. Since then she's written many books for kids (most under her maiden name Jennifer Dussling). Jen lives on Long Island with her Argentinean husband Dario. Dario ended phone conversations with his family wuth the words 'besos muchos besos,' which sparked the idea for Besos for Baby.
