My First Prayers is an illustrated collection of 15 simple prayers from all over the world chosen especially for very young children. It brings together sacred words from Poland, Native America, Japan, East Africa, India, and Europe, each speaking to universal themes, feelings, and occasions. There are prayers for different moods and for all hours of the day -- from rising time to playtime, mealtimes to family time, and of course bedtime. Easy-to-read text and charming illustrations make this the perfect first prayer book for any young child.

Jeremy Brooks grew up in Burundi, central Africa, where he worked as a solicitor for a number of years before returning to Britain to become a priest in the Church of England. He uses prayer and storytelling in his work with children in church and in school. LAURE FOURNIER was born in Antibes, in the South of France. She studied at the Emile Cohl School of Art in Lyons before coming to England to study illustration at Swindon College. Her books include Voiceplay (OUP), The Sound the Hare Heard and Other Stories (QED) and The Little Giraffe(Usborne).
