This text provides practical activity ideas for educators of 3-6 year olds based on traditional stories. The stories it focuses on are: "The Enormous Turnip"; "The Gingerbread Boy"; "Rapunzel"; "Hansel and Gretel"; and "The Emperor's New Clothes". For each story there are activities across the early years curriculum, plus ideas for displays, a cookery activity and photocopiable sheets. All the activities provide a foundation for the National Curriculum/Scottish Guidelines and cover many of the Desirable Outcomes for under-fives recommended by the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
