Providing lots of practical activities linked to five popular counting rhymes for young children, this book has step-by-step ideas for each area of the curriculum based on the rhymes: "Five Currant Buns", "There Were Ten In A Bed", "Five Little Ducks", "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe", and "One, Two, Three, Four, Five". Each activity in the book can be adapted for younger children, or extended for older children. For each rhyme it also includes ideas for cookery activities, interactive displays, and photocopiable activity sheets. All the activities the book provides aim to provide a firm foundation for the National Curriculum and Scottish 5-14 National Guidelines, and to cover many areas of the new Desirable Outcomes for under-fives.
