Great for age 7-11 years
Woodside School is a series of six books, each one focusing on a different pupil in class five and deals with a different issue - from fair play to truancy. Sophie Waters is a chatterbox. She is constantly being told off in class. But when she is wrongly accused of talking in a test, Sophie is outraged. She can't understand why Pavindra, the real culprit, didn't own up. What Sophie doesn't realise is that Pavindra is always expected to be top of the class by her classmates, her teacher and, most of all, her parents - and the pressure sometimes becomes too much to bear. These stories deal with serious subjects in a light-hearted and accessible way. The characters and situations are very real so that children can identify with them.
