This book is a great introduction to Native Americans' lives history and culture. Readers will be able to explore tribal dwellings from snow houses to desert tower blocks. There is also information about traditional arts and crafts rituals that marked each new season and the sacred power of the spirit world. The second part of the book covers the tribes region by region. You'll meet the totem pole carvers of the Pacific Northwest the Great Plains buffalo hunters and the Californian hunter-gatherers amongst others. The book closes with a discussion of Native American culture in contempory North America and gives links to websites where the reader can discover more about the tribes and traditions of Native Americans.
