Janet King was born in a small Tudor Village in Berkshire England and now lives in Hampshire, England. She holds a diploma from Epsom Art College in Illustration. She enjoys exploring and creating in a wide range of mediums including conventional materials such as pencil, ink, watercolour and gouache. Often Janet combines the basic concept design by scanning her art into the computer to develop the work within photoshop. Janet takes pleasure In conjuring the atmosphere of a story and bringing it into visual life. Janet's illustrations have been used primarily in children's books. One of the children's books Janet illustrated was short listed for the People's Book Prize in 2010. Janet has also illustrated cartoons, a spot of simple animation, and done sculpting for giftware.
