James Nicholson has a mathematics degree from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc from Sheffield Hallam. He has taught mathematics for nearly 30 years, including 13 as head of department, He is the author of two A-level texts and has contributed to many other textbooks at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level. Caroline Plaisted worked in publishing for several years before becoming a full-time writer, and is published by Bloomsbury, Simon and Schuster, Piccadilly Press and Scholastic. She was born and brought up in London and now lives in Ashford, Kent. Katie Wood graduated from Loughborough University School of Art and Design and has been living her dream working as a freelance illustrator. She creates illustrations for books, magazines and greetings cards all over the world.
