Satoshi Kitamura is a Japanese children's picture book author and illustrator, famous for his watercolours and quirky characters. James Berry grew up in a tiny village on the coast of Jamaica. He currently lives in Great Britain. Katherine Lucas studied illustration at the University of Brighton. She recently won the Macmillan Prize for Illustration. She lives with her husband in England. Gerard Benson, Judith Chernaik and Cicely Herbert are practising poets and founders of the "Poems on the Underground" scheme which places poetry on London's tube network. The scheme has been adopted in many countries all over the world and has spawned hugely successful books. Satoshi Kitamura is a Mother Goose Award-winning author/illustrator, a prize awarded to the most exciting newcomer to children's book illustration (for "Angry Arthur"). He was born in Tokyo.
