Intended as a resource for religious education and for learning about citizenship in primary schools, this book on the Jewish synagogue describes what Jews believe in, and how they worship as the reader is shown around an Orthodox Jewish synagogue. The Rabbi is introduced as he demonstrates how he reads from the Sefer Torah and explains, for example why a Jew wears a Tallit during prayer. This book includes practical advice for teachers on how to set up visits to local places of worship and working with artefacts.
