This is a delightful selection of stories from Hans Christian Andersen, translated by the eminent writer and critic, Naomi Lewis. Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish author and poet, most famous for his writing down of many timeless, classic fairy tales. He is Denmark's most famous author and his birthday is celebrated every year with a part called "Odin Story Day". Helen Nicoll worked with Jan Pienkowski for over forty years, first at the BBC and then on the Meg and Mog stories. She owned and ran the audio company Cover to Cover for many years. Helen lived in Marlborough, Wiltshire. She died on September 30, 2012. Edith Nesbit was an English author and poet who published over 60 books of fiction for children under her pen name E. Nesbit.
